Gargoyle Magazine Covers
2011
Description
During my four years at the University of Michigan I worked on three publications. The Michigan Daily, Consider Magazine, and the Gargoyle. For Consider I was active on the art staff -- brainstorming ways to highlight the weeks content and harness an audience. The Gargoyle gave me free reign to explore ways to draw in viewers -- and I used the opportunity to push the boundaries of an 'expected' publication cover.

  • Below are covers I completed during my three years on the art staff of the Gargoyle Humor Magazine at the University of Michigan. I worked with a dynamic group of people to create unique and eye catching covers. I used the opportunity to push the boundaries of 'expected' imagery for publications on campus.

  • This was a new style cover for the Gargoyle. Inspired by a series of magnets I made of facial features, the assortment of them in a single image is intriguing for a viewer, separating it out from other publications on the rack.
